Staying Hydrated with Spa Water

Staying Hydrated with Spa Water

Staying hydrated is an important part of living a life of health and wellness, but that doesn’t mean that it’s easy. Oftentimes, unless you’re working out or waking up in the middle of the night, you probably prefer to pass on drinking water for a different drink. After all, water doesn’t have much of a flavor. However, it doesn’t have to be that way. Spa water has become extremely popular in recent years, and it may just be your ticket to living a more hydrated life.

What is Spa Water?

Spa water is just another name for infused water. It’s simple to make - in fact, you can make most recipes using the fruits, herbs, and even vegetables that are in your fridge right now - and offers a lot of great benefits.

Is Spa Water Healthier than Plain Water?

This can be a bit of a tricky question, as it depends on a lot of factors, such as what fruits and herbs you’re using in your spa water. First, regardless of what’s going inside your water, when you like how it tastes, you’re more likely to drink more of it. That alone is a health benefit as you have a better chance of meeting your hydration requirements for the day. Certain fruit, herb, and vegetable combinations can offer different benefits as well. Some, such as lemon, can help detox your body, while others, such as strawberries or blueberries, can add antioxidants - which bind to free radicals in your body that could otherwise damage your cells - to the water you are drinking.

How Do You Make Spa Water?

If you’re interested in making your own spa water, then great! It’s easy to do, and you can even get your entire family involved. You can either make a large batch and store it to drink over time, or you can use a special water bottle such as the Hydracy Infuser Water Bottle which allows you to make individual batches. To make your own spa water, all you have to do is add your ingredients. Cutting or slicing some of the larger fruits and vegetables is encouraged as it helps them fit and allows them to steep easier. Spa water is best 2 to 4 hours after you make it as that is the optimal steeping time for your ingredients.

How Long Can You Store Spa Water?

If you do make a larger batch of spa water and want to store it, how long it lasts in the fridge depends a lot on what ingredients you chose to use. Certain herbs, such as rosemary which lasts up to a week, lasts longer than others, such as basil, which only lasts for a few days.

What are Good Fruits to Add to Spa Water?

One of the best parts of spa water is that the possibilities are endless! There are dozens, if not hundreds, of recipes available, and each one is fully customizable so you can make it exactly how you want. To start out, you can try strawberries, blueberries, watermelon, mint, or even lemon.
